Coconut Oil Refinishing
Have you ever found a cool vintage or thrift store wooden piece and thought to yourself it is too bad someone didn't take better care of that because it could have been a beautiful piece to take home with me. Then pass on it because it looked to damaged to save. Next time, give it a chance. It is amazing what a little coconut oil can do to bring the wood's former beauty through. I bought a real teak wood bowl that was not well taken care of. I
cleaned it, dried it, and then rubbed it with a little coconut oil and a paper towel. After I coated the entire thing in coconut oil, I let it sit for a moment and then buffed it out with a paper towel. I let it dry out before use. Now it is almost as good as new. Definitely brought it back to its former glory. It was super easy to do and only took a few minutes.
I did the same refinishing technique with a vintage desk and dress too. Just oil it frequently to keep it looking amazing.

Coconut Oil Refinishing
Materials:
- any wooden piece that need refinishing
- coconut oil
- paper towels
Instructions:
First make sure the wood is clean. Then rub the wooden piece with a little coconut oil using a paper towel. Start off with a small amount and add more as needed. After you have completely coated the entire piece in coconut oil, let it sit for a moment. Then use a paper towel to buff the excess oil. Let the piece dry completely before use. Isn't it amazing what a little coconut oil can do to bring the life back into a piece that wasn't well care for? It smells good too!
